FAQ's

How long does it take to get a custom piece made?

Our customer journey is typically 12 weeks from the initial consultation to the final fitting and collection, in this time your dress is designed, made to your measurements, fitted on you, altered accordingly and prepped and steamed for your big event. We usually have three appointments with the clients: 1. Initial consultation, 2. Fitting, 3. Collection. On rare occasions we may need to have multiple fittings depending on the complexity of the outfit.

Do I need to bring my own fabric?

No, we supply all the fabric - we have a huge selection of wools, silks, crepes, lace and many other types in store, we have every fabric in every colour you could possibly imagine so I'm sure you'll find a fabric you love with us!

I have a design in mind, can you make it?

We are more than happy to create a design inspired by something you've seen elsewhere however we do not like to make direct copies of other peoples designs as it is their intellectual property. We would be delighted to make something similiar and discuss elements we can change to make the piece completely unique to you.

I have no idea what type of outfit will suit my body type - can you help me?

Absolutely! Julie is an expert stylist as well as a talented fashion designer so she will be able to steer you in the right direction of finding something that is comfortable and flattering to your body shape.

I think my body size might change before my event - what should I do if the piece is too big or small for me when it arrives?

That is no problem at all! We are aware that bodies can go through changes especially when planning big events, when your outfit arrives to the store you will be welcomed back down for a fitting and if your outfit needs to be taken in or let out for a better fit, we have a team of seamstresses in house who will be happy to help you and guide you through this process

Can I get a headpiece and handbag to match my outfit?

Yes of course! We have some beautiful headpieces in the shop that are all available to rent but if you would like something custom made that can also be arranged. Likewise, we have gorgeous occasion wear bags available to buy in store but we can also custom make a bag for you in your exact chosen fabric - Feel free to ask about this during your consultation.

I already  have an outfit but I want to make changes to it (e.g. add sleeves or alter neckline) can you help me?

Yes absolutely! Feel free to book in a Formalwear Alteration Appointment with us here. If you're already coming for a custom made appointment, bring the outfit with you and we can discuss it during your consultation

I want to get my Wedding Dress altered, when should I book in for this?

Congratulations! If you've found your perfect dress in another boutique, we would suggest booking in for a week after you've  been advised that your dress will arrive to your bridal boutique. Its important to book in advance as this tends to get quite full quite quickly and we want to make sure you're top of the queue - if you wait to book in after your dress arrives from the bridal shop it might be too late, especially around peak wedding season (May, June, July, August)If possible, we would like to see you for your initial fitting at least 6 weeks before your big day! If you're getting your wedding dress custom made with us, don't worry about alterations, you'll already be in our calendar

What should I wear to my appointment?

For all appointments, please refrain from wearing Fake Tan or heavy makeup, as we want your outfit to be in pristine condition leaving our premises. For fittings, please wear the underwear you intend on using the day of your event as well as the shoes you hope to wear. If you don't have your shoes picked yet thats no problem but please bring a heel with a similar height of what you want to wear as it affects posture and alignment which is so important for fitting clothes.

Brides: please note we will not work on the hem of your dress until you have your chosen shoes.

What is your returns policy?

I live very far away, can I do a virtual consultation?

For custom made appointments, we prefer to meet in person as we will take your exact measurements and we will have follow up appointments for your alterations. If you live too far away to visit us in Wexford then we would suggest getting something made-to-order instead.

Whats the difference between Made-to-Order and Custom Made?

Great question! A custom made piece is made entirely unique to you and your exact measurements. You can select any fabric you want and add any embellishments you would like, for example beading or lace overlays. This experience also includes a consultation with Julie and all standard alterations required to get the perfect fit.

A made-to-order garment is made in standard sizes 8 through to 18. Any of the outfits on our website can be ordered in standard sizes and the colour may be changed but the garment must be made in its original fabric type to keep the integrity of the intial design. Follow up alterations are not included in this experience.

Made to Order

Our made to order range features many bespoke pieces available to order in a range of fabrics and sizes.
